Shipping policy

Where we ship

We ship within the United States only. Because of state agricultural rules, we can't ship live plants to California, Hawaii, or Alaska. Planters, apparel, and other non-plant items ship to all 50 states.

Processing time

Orders ship within 1–3 business days. To keep plants from sitting in a warehouse over the weekend, live plants ship Monday through Wednesday. Plant orders placed later in the week go out the following Monday.

Shipping costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the carrier you choose (USPS or UPS).

Free shipping on orders of $50 or more
Free shipping on any order of 6 or more plants

Delivery time

Once shipped, most orders arrive in 2–5 business days by USPS Ground Advantage. Faster options are available at checkout. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.

Cold weather

From November through March, add a Plant Heat Pack at checkout to keep your plants warm in transit to colder areas.

Holiday shipping

For Christmas delivery, please place all orders by December 13.

Damaged plants

We pack every plant carefully, but carriers aren't always gentle. If your plant arrives damaged, email a photo to hello@therootdudes.com within 48 hours of delivery and we'll send a replacement or a refund.
