A Seriously Cool Succulent 🌿

Looking for something a little different? Meet the Goat’s Ear Plant (Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri), also known as the Donkey Ear Kalanchoe.

This unusual succulent is known for its long, oversized leaves that develop beautiful mottled markings as they mature. But the really fun part? Mature leaves can produce tiny baby plantlets right along their edges!

Those little babies can eventually be propagated into new plants, making Goat’s Ear a fun addition for succulent collectors, propagation lovers, and anyone who enjoys plants that do something a little unexpected.

📸 Starter Plant — Please Read

You are purchasing a young starter plant. Some product photos may show a mature plant to demonstrate what your starter can grow into with time, proper care, and suitable growing conditions.

Because plants are living and unique, the plant you receive may vary from the photos in size, shape, color, fullness, leaf pattern, and overall appearance.

That's part of the fun — no two plants are exactly alike!

🌱 Yep, It Makes Babies!

One of our favorite things about Goat’s Ear is its unusual way of reproducing.

As the plant matures, tiny plantlets can develop along the tips and edges of its leaves. Once developed, these little babies can eventually be separated and propagated into entirely new plants.

Young starter plants may not have plantlets when they arrive. This fun feature develops as the plant matures and will vary based on growing conditions.

☀️ Light

Give your Goat’s Ear plenty of bright light.

A sunny or brightly lit window works well indoors. It can also enjoy direct sunlight when properly acclimated.

If moving your plant outdoors or into stronger sunlight, introduce it gradually to help prevent sunburn.

💧 Water

Like most succulents, Goat’s Ear would rather be a little dry than too wet.

Allow the soil to dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and let excess water drain away.

Avoid constantly wet or soggy soil. A well-draining succulent or cactus-style potting mix and a container with drainage are ideal.
